Eagle Scout

Bronze, Amethyst & Quartz 9″ x 6″ x 26″ Limited Edition of 8

Eagle Scout sits atop a beautiful amethyst crystal that is filled with wondrous potential and possibilities, while scouting out this frontier of reality with the eye of an eagle.
This sculpture piece came about as a result of pondering a belief that I had – “If you are nice, people will take advantage of you.” While in meditation, what first appeared in my inner vision was a scary looking eagle face. In this dreamlike state, I sensed that this scary looking face was actually a mask. This mask was hiding its true identity. At the same time, a question was asked – “Why are you so afraid of letting your “niceness” shine through?”
I recognized that this was a belief that I was holding on to, and wanted to change. Just because the world out there can seem, and often is, a scary place – doesn’t mean that I should be afraid to be who I really am.
Eagle Scout understands the importance of discernment that comes through observation and awareness. And as I “scout out” my reality, I need to know when I might need to temporarily garner a mask, or at least be more guarded.
